The Mystery Door

 The Mystery Door

In the corner of Emma’s grandmother’s attic was a small, locked door that no one ever opened. “What’s behind it?” Emma had asked many times. Her grandmother always smiled and said, “Just old things. Nothing exciting.”

One rainy day, while helping clean the attic, Emma found a small brass key hidden in a drawer. She felt a spark of excitement and wondered if it could unlock the mystery door. Her grandmother was downstairs baking, so Emma decided to give it a try.

The key fit perfectly. With a soft click, the door creaked open, revealing a staircase leading down. Emma hesitated but curiosity got the best of her. She carefully descended the stairs and found herself in a hidden room filled with strange objects: antique furniture, paintings of people she didn’t recognize, and a chest.

Inside the chest, Emma found letters and photographs from long ago. One letter was addressed to her grandmother. It was from her grandfather, written during the war, filled with love and hope. Emma realized this room was a treasure trove of her family’s history.

When Emma showed her grandmother what she’d found, her grandmother’s eyes filled with tears. “I thought these were lost forever,” she said. Together, they spent hours reading the letters and sharing stories about the past.
