The Lost Wallet

It was a sunny afternoon when Ahmed decided to go to the park. He had some free time and thought it would be nice to relax by the lake. He packed his small backpack with a book, a bottle of water, and his wallet, which contained his ID, some cash, and a few important cards.

When Ahmed arrived at the park, he found a quiet bench under a shady tree. He sat down, took out his book, and began to read. The sound of birds chirping and the gentle rustle of leaves made the atmosphere peaceful. He was so engrossed in his book that he didn’t notice the time passing.

After about an hour, Ahmed decided to walk around the park. He placed his book back in his backpack, but he didn’t realize that his wallet had fallen out onto the bench. He strolled along the pathways, enjoying the fresh air and watching children play.

When Ahmed returned home later that afternoon, he reached into his backpack to grab his wallet—and it wasn’t there. Panic set in as he checked every pocket, but it was gone. “I must have dropped it at the park!” he thought, grabbing his keys and rushing back.

At the park, Ahmed retraced his steps, searching every spot he had visited. His heart sank when he didn’t find the wallet on the bench where he had been reading. He asked a few people nearby if they had seen it, but no one had.

Just as he was about to give up, a small boy ran up to him. “Excuse me, sir,” the boy said, holding out something in his hand. It was Ahmed’s wallet!

“Where did you find this?” Ahmed asked, surprised and relieved.

“I saw it on the bench,” the boy explained. “I thought someone might come back for it, so I waited.”

Ahmed smiled and thanked the boy sincerely. He even gave him a small reward for his honesty. On his way home, Ahmed felt grateful—not just for finding his wallet but also for the kindness of a young stranger who had reminded him that good people still existed.
