A Visit to the Doctor

A Visit to the Doctor

Layla had been feeling under the weather for a few days. She had a persistent cough and a slight fever that wouldn’t go away. Her mother decided it was time to visit the doctor.

That morning, Layla got dressed reluctantly. She didn’t like going to the doctor because she was always afraid of shots. “Do I really have to go, Mama?” she asked. Her mother nodded firmly.

At the clinic, the waiting room was filled with people. Layla sat down nervously, looking around at the posters on the walls. One showed a smiling cartoon character encouraging children to eat healthy food, while another reminded everyone to wash their hands.

When it was her turn, the nurse led Layla and her mother to a small examination room. The doctor, a kind woman with a warm smile, greeted them. “What seems to be the problem today?” she asked.

Layla’s mother explained her symptoms while the doctor listened carefully. The doctor then checked Layla’s temperature and used a stethoscope to listen to her breathing. “Take a deep breath for me,” the doctor said. Layla obeyed, feeling the cold metal on her chest.

The doctor explained that Layla had a mild chest infection. “It’s nothing too serious,” she said, “but she’ll need some medicine to help her recover.” She wrote a prescription and gave Layla some tips on staying healthy, like drinking plenty of water and getting enough rest.

As they left the clinic, Layla felt relieved. The doctor had been so nice, and she didn’t even need a shot! At home, she started taking her medicine and following the doctor’s advice. Within a few days, she was feeling much better.
