Helping Grandma
Helping Grandma
On a warm Sunday morning, Amal woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside her window. She stretched and got ready for the day, excited to visit her grandma, who lived just a short walk away. Grandma always had the best stories and delicious cookies waiting for Amal.
When Amal arrived, she noticed that her grandma looked a little tired. “Good morning, Grandma!” she said, giving her a big hug. “Are you okay?”
Grandma smiled but sighed. “I’m fine, dear, but there’s so much to do today. I need to clean the house, tend to the garden, and bake a cake for your uncle’s visit later.”
Amal thought for a moment and then said, “Don’t worry, Grandma! I’ll help you with everything.”
Together, they started with the house. Amal swept the floors while Grandma dusted the shelves. They laughed as they worked, turning chores into a fun game. Next, they went to the garden. Amal pulled weeds while Grandma planted colorful flowers. The garden looked beautiful when they finished, and Grandma gave Amal a small bouquet as a thank-you.
Finally, it was time to bake. Amal loved being in the kitchen with her grandma. They measured flour, cracked eggs, and mixed the ingredients for a delicious chocolate cake. Amal even got to lick the spoon, which was her favorite part.
When everything was done, Grandma hugged Amal tightly. “Thank you, my dear. I couldn’t have done it without you,” she said.
Amal felt proud and happy. Helping Grandma had made her day special, and she knew it had made Grandma’s day easier, too.
