Lost in the Woods
Lost in the Woods
Jake and his little sister Emma loved exploring the woods behind their grandparents' house. They often played games, pretending to be adventurers on a quest. One sunny afternoon, they decided to venture further than ever before, determined to find the "hidden waterfall" their grandfather once mentioned.
The woods grew denser as they walked, and soon the familiar paths disappeared. Jake realized they were lost. Emma clung to his hand, her eyes wide with worry. “Don’t worry,” Jake said, trying to sound confident. “We’ll find our way back.”
They followed the sound of rushing water, hoping it would lead them to the waterfall—or at least a stream they could follow back home. As they walked, they spotted strange landmarks: a tree shaped like a lightning bolt, a rock that looked like a bear’s head, and a circle of mushrooms.
Just as the sun began to set, they found the waterfall. It was beautiful, with crystal-clear water cascading into a small pool. Nearby, they discovered a small cave. Inside, they found old carvings on the walls, likely made by explorers long ago.
Jake and Emma rested by the waterfall, but they knew they had to find their way back before it got too dark. Jake remembered the landmarks and retraced their steps. They finally saw the familiar light of their grandparents' house just as the stars began to appear.
Their grandparents hugged them tightly and scolded them gently for wandering too far. But Jake and Emma couldn’t wait to tell them about the magical waterfall and the mysterious cave they had discovered.
